Systemic approach to problems

I started out by looking at issues related to food, however when you start looking at the bigger picture you can see that there are innumerable interconnected problems that we are dealing with currently.

Whether it is the growing population of humans or the shrinking population of orangutans. Be it landfills or e-waste or consumerism. Problems related to mass-manufacturing, loss of bio-diversity, increase in natural and man-made disasters. All of these problems are linked with one another.

One of my biggest takeaways from my design college was that trying to solve a problem in isolation never works. What we think is a solution for someone would be a problem for another. Such issues require a more systemic approach in which every stakeholder and every element of a system is considered before trying to intervene into the problem.

Trying to solve a problem in isolation never works.
